During my visit to the NIH a week ago, I got to visit with Jeff Diamond, the new Science Director at NINDS.  I have to say that it was an absolute treat as we never really had a couple of hours of one on one time before where we could talk about science, and art, and retinas and neural systems research.  I was delighted that Jeff was so committed to bridging art and science, and we talked about why that was so critically important to communicating what scientists do to the wider community that funds the work through taxpayer funded initiatives.

I look forward to the next opportunity to visit with you Jeff.
