After 3 plus years of successfully avoiding contracting COVID through behavior, avoiding crowds, and masking, it finally got me. Tested negative every single day of the two meetings I just attended at Google and in Ventura for the VolumeEM Gordon Conference. And then this test result upon getting home… At the time of this test, I was feeling fine. Later that night however… Ooof. Hit me like a ton of bricks.
The thing is: I dropped my guard and did not wear a mask in a couple of poorly ventilated rooms, and shared a car ride with some folks unmasked. One of these events got me just as COVID is appearing to make a summer resurgence. Masking works folks… Keep it up until community transmission drops.
