On a break at Janelia Farm, I went for a walk with Rob, down across the Potomac to Selden Island and decided to try my hand at IR photography. Its beautiful out there…
It turns out that the Fuji X-Trans sensor actually passes quite a bit of IR which makes it a pretty spectacular camera for IR photography. This camera has not been converted to IR photography by removing the filter over the CCD. Rather, I simply used a B+W filter that blocks all spectra except that at 830nm and above. The exposures are longer on a configuration like this (12 seconds in this example), but that brings with it, its own advantages.
nice capture!
Thanks!
