I had a chance to sit down and visit with Josh Moore @notjustmoore at the Volume EM Gordon Research Conference a few weeks ago and discuss his thoughts on large data, standards, and storage of bio-imaging data. I loved some of his insight and was in violent agreement that we do not need additional file formats for much of what we are doing in bioscience. But we do very much need open standards.
