I had the chance to sit down with Sydney Gee the other day for a portfolio review to see where my grant funding situation is. Sydney is replacing our outgoing grants administrator Linda Jensen who retired, and Sydney has some big shoes to fill.
I cannot express how important positions like this are to the ongoing health of departments and research groups. The people in these jobs help out with keeping a bigger picture view on the management of grants which can not infrequently get lost in the intense management of grants.
