I discovered something rather interesting when playing with the new iPhone 14 facial recognition and the Leica SL2-S. Apparently the SL2-S is exquisitely sensitive to the IR laser energy from the iPhone. I don’t know yet if this is true with other cameras or not as different cameras have varying IR cut filters in front of the sensor. I should run some experiments with IR cut filters to see what the IR sensitivity looks like.
