Ed Lueders is a remarkable human being.  I had met him a few times through the years, but never really talked with him until his good friend Robert and I sat down for a few minutes with him in the lobby of the University Hospital where Ed plays piano fairly routinely.  Ed plays both classical music and jazz beautifully with a nuanced touch that reveals a lifetime of music.  Indeed, at 95 years of age, Ed has at least 73 years of playing experience and I would guess at least 10 years more than that.  Ed, like many people has a story and Ed’s story is quite interesting indeed as a veteran, a poet, teacher, author, editor and translator.

The images below are of my scientific mentor and friend, Robert Marc and Ed Lueders.  I loved watching each of them light up, clearly pleased to be in each others presence.
