This portrait of Farran Briggs  above was made not that long ago when she was interviewing for a potential job at the Moran Eye Center. We clearly made a mistake in not hiring her, and I felt so at the time.  However, I just had the opportunity to deliver the Boynton Seminar at the Flaum Eye Institute, Center for Visual Sciences @CvsUor, University of Rochester and sat down with Farran to visit and catch up.  It did my heart good to see that she is thriving here and both she and the University of Rochester made the proper decision to team up. This visit was a reminder to me that photo existed, but I’ve never posted it before.

The photo below was made in one of her laboratories, some of the best space she could possibly have built up for her work.  Better I dare say than we might have been able to provide at my institution.
