This was my attempt at getting Jupiter and its moons the other night with a simple spotting scope. Right now, Jupiter is closer to Earth than it has been in many decades. One of these days when I have a little extra time and money for better optics, it would be fun to see if I could do better. But for now, I’ll take this. There is no thrill quite like seeing this stuff with your own eyes.
