Thanks Bill. That was a single, “straight” shot metered on the shaded part of the moon to bring out the detail. It overexposed the rim of the moon a bit, but… Oh well.
Thanks for the reply Bryan. The minimal amount of overexposure on the rim in a straight shot is remarkable. The color of the dark portion of the moon is a blue that ranges toward purple on my monitor. Definitely suitable for framing.
Great shot Bryan. Is that a straight shot or did you have to balance the exposures on the light and dark portions of the moon in post?
