I had the distinct pleasure to share drinks and dinner with Mate Lengyel on my first night in Cambridge. Mate is a professor of computational neuroscience at Cambridge who studies algorithmic approaches to learning and memory, modeling dynamic systems from biophysical models.  I’m very keen on continuing the dialogue with Mate as one of the things I would love to implement is a proper, physics based model of retina at some point in my career.  Deriving those models from evolutionary systems would be the icing on the cake.

Thank you for the discussion and company, Mate.  Hopefully, we will cross paths again in the not too distant future.

  1. Hi Bryan, thanks for sharing the picture and your reflection on the evening. — which I also very much enjoyed, so the pleasure was really mine, too. I am looking forward to continuing our discussions and, if we get to it, to working on a model of the retina together.
