I took the lab post-docs to Berlin to attend the Max Planck / HHMI Connectomics Meeting in Berlin this year. This was my first time attending the meeting which made for an interesting experience given our history with connectomics. This meeting was great, and we’ve started to explore some collaborations with folks in modeling, including Josh Vogelstein and Carey Priebe, as well as possibly Carina Curto and Katherine Morrison. I spent some time with Josh and Carey at Johns Hopkins last week and Carina and Katherine will be coming by the lab here in Utah next week, so… we’ll see where this goes.
Unfortunately, I did not get a chance for much more in the way of photography at this meeting. But some of what I shot is here, below. Julia Kuhl documented the meeting as well, so there is a history of the meeting, captured in photographs.
