Going out for ice cream with my friend Katerina (@biliouriful)  and her son (my godson), I met up with Katie at her proprietorship, Cookies and Cream.  Katie is an expat from America who followed her love and opened a treats shop in one of the more interesting parts of Berlin, the former no man’s land in-between the Berlin Wall.  I am a sucker for ice cream, particularly when traveling, and the ice cream from Cookies and Cream was an absolute delight.  Katie also makes exceptional cookies and cakes, so if you are in the area, be sure to check out Katie’s shop for sweet treats.

  1. I like how international and more cosmopolitan is every time I go. That way my wife, who’s never too sure about her German, can feel more comfortable getting around. Added Cookies and Cream to my list of places I should check out. I heard with Brexit coming (maybe, who knows what they’re doing), Berlin and even more, Frankfurt, are already seeing even more of an influx of business that is leaving London. Is that noticeable on the streets?

    1. I absolutely noticed more large corporate banking presence in Berlin as London based companies are relocating headquarters. I love Berlin, and the feel of the city with all the young families, art, and academics. It makes the city feel so alive.

Looking forward to the next visit.
