After arriving in Belfast, I met up with my friend Michael Redmond to take a quick train ride up to hike around and explore Northern Ireland and Derry.  I was worried when Michael said he’d be late for the RD meeting just before our meeting in Belfast, but Michael had apparently just won the Champalimaud Award for his work in vision research, so that was a most excellent reason to be late.  Congratulations Michael.
