Magnus Lindström is the man at the Tvärminne Zoological Research Station in Hanko, Finland.  He was an amazing host for our visit there and was kind enough to indulge me for a portrait while he was showing off his scientific apparatus for exploring the visual function and spectral sensitivity of crustaceans, specifically the decapod Mysis relicta.

Thank you Magnus, for inviting and hosting David, Frans and I, and we will look forward to seeing you again in the not too distant future.

  1. Dear Bryan,
Just stumbled over this photo! Thank you.
It was a pleasure to have you all here last year at the Visionarium.
However, I have not seen you on this year’s list of participants.
By the way, M. relicta is not an isopod but a decapod belonging to Mysida. It could be named just “opossum shrimp”

    1. Hello Magnus!
Thank you for the feedback. I’ve made the change to decapod in the description.
As for this years conference, I am currently trying to figure out how to come. Hope to see you again this year.
