On my way back from Melbourne, I stopped by the Centre for Eye Health and the University of New South Wales to give a talk about some of our work in retinal pathoconnectomics, and visit with my friend and colleague Michael Kalloniatis.  Michael is my academic brother as he did a postdoc with my doctoral and postdoctoral advisor, Robert Marc.  It is always good to see and spend some time with Michael.  His work building a program for eye health in Sydney does so much good for the community there.  He inspires me as a scientist, a good human being and as one of the hardest working people I know.
