This image was made with an amazing camera the Fuji X-T1 (IR/UV) camera, sensitive in the IR and UV bandwidths.  A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending a special class in forensic imaging offered by Fuji along with forensic imaging specialists from local police departments and federal agencies. We learned about how to image fingerprints, blood, gun residue and more as well as how to illuminate evidence using alternative wavelengths.

I’ve long had an interest in forensic imaging and have used many of the principles of image forensics in figuring out how images were manipulated.  This was my first exposure to criminal image forensics from the capture standpoint of evidence.
