This image of my colleague Alessandra Angelucci was made for a yearly Research to Prevent Blindness report from the Moran Eye Center. Alessandra studies neuronal circuits that give rise to functional properties in the visual cerebral cortex, resulting in visual perception.
I would prefer a photograph with people looking into the camera, but RPB requires that investigators not be looking into the camera, be working and be in a white “scientific coat”. The reality is: we scientists only put those coats on when we have to take pictures, but that is another issue…
