Carter Cornwall is one of the legends in vision research.  He visited the Moran Eye Center recently and we had a chance to visit, talk science and make a portrait in my office.  Carter’s inspiring scientific work goes back almost 50 years and has informed our understanding of how the retina detects and signals light and how photoreceptors adapt to decreasing light levels.  I always enjoy our discussions as Carter is a scientist, outdoorsman and photographer, and look forward to running into him next week again at the annual ARVO research meeting.

  1. Rumor has it that he’s missing a key smile muscle:)

I’ve never owned a Leica and always assumed their service would be top notch to justify the price. Sorry to see this is not your experience. I love my D800. I don’t see myself needing to consider anything else for quite some time; it’s more camera than I am a photographer !
