The Journal of Neuroscience Just published an article in The Journal of Neuroscience. This paper takes a novel approach to neuroscience and classifies all of the ganglion cells in the mammalian retina according to their small molecular contents of a select group of amino acids along with their physiologic response profiles. The techniques excite me and I see a great future for them not only in retinal neuroscience, but also in a variety of other disciplines including drug development, cancer biology and more...
