Dissertation defense

I successfully defended my dissertation! Huzzah! This Halloween, I am now officially, as of noon today Dr. Jones. After the dissertation defense and committee meeting, I obtained all the signatures needed and ran down to lower campus to make sure all the paperwork was appropriately filed. That took pretty much the rest of the afternoon and after that, we went over to Robert and Ann's for a celebratory party. Finally, that night dinner was had at Bambara and the day was finished about twenty hours after it began, leaving me with a pleasant feeling of relief as the dominant emotion.
