C-40c This aircraft based on the Boeing 737 business jet is a brand new delivery for the US Government called the C-40c sitting on the tarmac at Boeing field in Seattle, Washington. The C-40 is a special-missions based aircraft that provides transport for senior government and military officials in addition to foreign high-priority dignitaries and is equipped with the latest communications and defense measures to allow immediate global response to a variety of theaters. While some of the antennas on the top of the aircraft are mission specific, you can also see the external phased array antennas (the two square antennas on the top front of the aircraft) for Boeing's Connexion broadband access (now called Boeing Broadband Satcom Network) for secure data and video. The aircraft is flown principally by a variety of units inside the Air Force Air Mobility Command. Posted: Fri - July 18, 2008 at 02:50 PM |
