Salt Flats at night I forgot how beautiful the desert is at night. I came out here for Bonneville Speed Week. A side benefit of coming out tonight was that I'd get to see the Perseid meteor showers. Unfortunately, there were not many to see tonight, though there were a few spectacularly bright trails. These images are certainly not quite what I had in mind, but I think to get what I had in mind, a newer camera with lower noise at high ISO is going to be required as James Duncan Davidson so nicely illustrated with the new Canon 1D Mk III. There may be a new Canon 5d coming out in the not too distant future, and if they can retain their low light sensitivity or improve on it, that might be a system that I could afford to upgrade to when it is released. ![]() ![]() Posted: Sun - August 12, 2007 at 11:45 AM |
