This year’s ARVO was held in Honolulu, Hawaii which was a bit of a departure from the last meeting held in Baltimore. More exotic for some perhaps. Closer to our colleagues in Asia and the Pacific for sure. And certainly more expensive for many which meant that many labs did not attend. Myself and a postdoc in the lab Becca came out to present work from the lab, and to meet with colleagues we are collaborating with. Mostly, we spent time in the conference center which was pretty nice, but Becca and I did get out our last day in Oahu to rent a Jeep and drive around the island, and got in a quick hike before our flight out.
I keep saying that I’ll spend more time at some of these destinations… Perhaps one of these days I’ll listen to myself.
