I had the pleasure of visiting with Harald Hess while at Janelia Farm to talk about science, politics, and most importantly, the technology related to elucidating neural circuitry. Harald is the kind of guy who can seemingly make anything, and parlayed time spent at Bell Labs into an amazing opportunity at Janelia Farm to chase microscopy science. We need more places like Janelia and Bell Labs… If even to simply allow people like Harald to explore and chase their science, as it moves us all forward.
