Steven Fliesler dropped by the Moran Eye Center a little while ago to visit and give a talk and my office for a chat and a portrait.  Steve is vice-chair and director of research in ophthalmology at University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

Steve and I go way back and in fact, he was the first person, after hearing a talk of mine at ARVO, to invite me to give a talk as a grad student when he was at St. Louis University.  That was a huge deal for me and I will always be grateful.

  1. Steve Fliesler was HONORED to be given the opportunity to give a seminar at the Moran Eye Center (Oct. 2015), and to meet with longtime friends and highly valued colleagues, such as the cell bio superstar and constant connectomaniac, Bryan William Jones, and his mentor and co-conspirator, Robert Marc. Steve never knew it was a “huge deal” for Bryan to get that first seminar invitation– but was happy to make it happen. Pay it forward, pal. [Steve is now switching back to first person singular.]
