This common starling (Sturnus vulgaris) was seen singing his heart out as the weather starts to get warmer here in Salt Lake City, Utah.  The number and diversity of vocalizations these birds are capable of really do boggle the mind and they are capable of a mimicry that is even more amazing.  Walking home from work a while ago, I was stunned to hear a seagull up in a tree. “Seagulls don’t roost in trees!” I thought and looked up to see a starling singing away, calling out just like a seagull.
