This little house sparrow (Passer domesticus) was seen on a rooftop with my new, favorite camera lens for birding, the Fuji XF 100-400mm lens.  It is a lightweight lens that has incredible sharpness allowing one to get in closer to birds than before without disturbing their behavior and I was impressed with the way the combination of this lens and the Fuji X-T1 camera handled the very difficult lighting, shooting right up against snow on a very bright day.

The image above is not the first house sparrow I’ve shot with Fuji cameras/lenses. I’ve been amazed at the level of detail possible with the Fuji solutions and I cannot wait to capture more imagery with the Fuji 100-400mm lens in the near future as winter turns to spring.
