The Wasatch Front inversion has set in pretty hard and all the light around the valley is incredibly flat which sorta matches my feelings here after this week.  Grant rejections always hurt and its tough to not take it personally.  This was a big one that really would have helped our connectomics efforts, but it was also a fairly large request and given the flat budget predicted for NIH and NSF in 2017 I am not surprised to get the rejections.  It still stings though.

So, as this is posted, I am sitting down to finish working on some manuscript revisions so we can at least demonstrate we are making progress on other grants.
