Great Egret (Adrea alba)

Great egret

Camera: Fuji X-T1
Exposure: 1/950
Aperture: f/8
Focal Length: 500mm (reflex)
ISO: 200

This great egret (Ardea alba) was seen by the golf course at Stanford University and photographed with the  the Canon 500mm f/8 reflex lens I talked about here while I watched it eat small fish from the creek. Back in the days of film when this lens was originally made, I doubt you could have achieved the subtle tones seen in the water that are possible by using this lens on modern digital cameras.
