Robert Marc at the JEOL JEM-1400 Electron Microscope during a video shoot for the University of Utah the other day.  There is a key fluorescent tube in front of his face, down underneath the microscope objectives, a hair highlight light above and behind and a fill light to the left, behind the microscope column.

  1. Great photo. Thanks for describing the lighting setup. Now I can see the slight color temperature difference on his hair. Too bad you couldn’t move the fluorescent tube slightly out of frame and I never would have known! I’m a new follower of your blog and a fellow photographer. You’ve got a very interesting feed even though I’m not a scientist.
    Cheers,

    1. Thank you Stephen,

You have some excellent stuff on your site. Love the night shots at Edwards. Wow. You keep a blog or Flickr site or do you post everything to your photo site?
