SLC Photowalk #5

When: Saturday, January 12th from 11am to 2pm
Where: Gateway Community Church – 584 East 12300 South, Draper
Who: Anyone who would like to learn about lighting and photography

For those of you that have been following the SLC Photowalk pool on Flickr, you know that we’ve scheduled the next Photowalk for this Saturday. The theme this time, especially given that it is cold outside is “Studio Photography”. The idea is that Rich has arranged for a space in the sanctuary of the Gateway Community Church (534 East 12300 South, Draper) where we can set up several “studios” complete with various examples of lighting. Models will be provided from 11-2 (though there is a nominal tip suggested of $5 for the models time) as well as lights, backdrops and more with the idea that this should be an opportunity for people to learn about studio lights and subject illumination. All are welcome, including people who have never before touched a studio light. Bring your camera, questions and enthusiasm, check your ego at the door and have fun.

Also, thanks to a wonderful suggestion from Ann, we are also planning on having a dedicated area set aside where people will bring their gear for others to try out. We’ll have a Canon table, Nikon table, Olympus table and more for people to try out gear like lenses, flashes, filters and more.
