Superfly

The Sarcophaga carnaria or flesh flies, a true fly typically feed on nectar, rotting carrion and dung. Given that these images were captured in our backyard, my hope is that this fly was around due to the large number of flowering fruit trees and shrubs in the neighborhood rather than the alternatives. Although, our next door neighbors do have a couple of dogs which might explain the dung part of it…
