Full Moon





The full Moon last Friday night was the biggest one in years as it came closer to the Earth tonight than it has been in quite some time. On average, the Moon is around 238,855 miles away from Earth, but the moon on last Friday night was only 221,560 miles away from earth, due to the eccentricity of the orbit. This means that the Moon appeared to be about 14 percent larger and up to 30 percent brighter than average, which of course made for some lovely sky watching.
